Dr. Hemant Pendse gets UMaine 2021 Distinguished Maine Professor Award

Dr. Hemant Pendse is an internationally renowned leader in forest bioproducts research and has brought opportunities for the University of Maine and the state to new heights with his work. Since joining the university in 1979, the professor of chemical engineering and chair of the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering has spearheaded innovative research that has earned two patents, produced 82 publications, given more than 200 technical papers, and garnered $17 million in external funding. This video tribute to Dr. Pendse, the Alumni Association's 2021 Distinguished Maine Professor, includes Pendse's acceptance remarks.
