In June, President Trump ordered federal agencies to bypass requirements of some of the country's most significant environmental laws to fast-track big development projects.
The legality of the directive is questionable. It would suspend requirements for compliance with the Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, and other laws. It would also shut out input from those affected by such projects and it would block considerations of the value of birds, wildlife, tribal interests, community impacts. RESTORE has joined with other conservation groups in opposing Trump’s wrecking crew.
