Maine stands on the cusp of a transformative opportunity with the burgeoning offshore wind industry. Gov. Janet Mills’ recent announcement selecting Sears Island as the preferred site for a port facility supporting this industry reflects the state’s commitment to renewable energy. However, Sprague Energy, a longtime energy resource for the state, proposes an alternative that merits serious consideration.
