Margie Patlak’s book, “More Than Meets the Eye: Exploring Nature and Loss on the Coast of Maine,” was given an Outstanding Book award by the American Society of Journalists and Authors. The book includes chapters about topics quintessentially Maine: fog, wildlife, and how the state’s rocky coastline was formed. But through each one, Patlak explores much deeper topics such as humanity, renewal and the relation of time. She also showed photographs from her upcoming book, “Wild and Wondrous: Nature’s Artistry on the Coast of Maine.”
