Dairy barn in Gorham destroyed by late night fire

Fire ripped through a large barn in Gorham late Tuesday night, endangering dairy cattle housed inside the structure off Flaggy Meadow Road. Sara Mower and her husband, Cody, live across the street from the Flaggy Meadow Farm. Cody Mower tried to help move cattle out of the burning barn. Sara said she believed there were 7-10 cows in the barn and that not all survived. Most of the herd was in the fields surrounding the barn and were likely not harmed. The colonial-style six-bedroom home at 160 Flaggy Meadow Road was built in 1800.
