The Maine Warden Service recovered the body Wednesday of a Roxbury man who fell out of his boat Tuesday evening on Ellis Pond. The body of Thomas Averill, 55, was recovered Wednesday morning by game wardens. Averill was fishing alone Tuesday evening when he fell out of a 14-foot aluminum boat. People on shore noticed an aluminum boat moving across the pond with no one on board at approximately 7:50 p.m. They then saw movement in the water and heard cries for help. Several people boated out to the location where they spotted a hat floating in the water but were unable to locate anyone.
