Topsham is the first town in Maine to receive recognition from the national SolSmart Program, acknowledging Topsham for encouraging solar development. SolSmart, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, was established in 2016 to make solar energy faster, easier and more affordable for local governments and regional organizations.
