I had a heat pump installed recently, not because I needed to but to reduce my carbon footprint by 500 gallons of heating oil per heating season. One of the rewards for such an investment was a $400 rebate from state funds; that did not happen. The installer of the heat pump was R.J. Energy Resources from Augusta — great job. John Ramsey, the owner, was as upset as I was because the rebate was promised and deserved. He gave me $400 from his company to cover the let down by the state. I’ll rise above the blues but I don’t like the message this issue might sent to others. ~ Rod Spearin, Gardiner
