Letter: ‘Clock is ticking’ on protection of Lake Auburn

SUN JOURNAL • April 13, 2022

The residents of Lewiston and Auburn can be thankful indeed that Mayor Carl Sheline of Lewiston has enough foresight to call for a moratorium on any further voting regarding the Lake Auburn watershed issue(s) until a more comprehensive study has been completed. I wish I could say the same for Auburn Mayor Jason Levesque who, along with a few other individuals, seem to be trying desperately to bulldoze their agenda through as fast as possible (again), before more people come to realize just how crucial this issue really is. Residents of Lewiston and Auburn must get involved right now before it’s too late, because the clock is ticking very fast. Residents of Lewiston and Auburn need to remember that it’s their drinking water and that, once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. ~ Roland Rancourt Jr., Auburn
