Letter: Lewiston residents should have vote on Lake Auburn’s future

SUN JOURNAL • December 20, 2022

As a Lewiston resident I cannot vote on the protection of Lake Auburn. The residents of Lewiston would have to share in the cost to install a filtration system— $45 million plus $2 million a year after it is installed. This would raise the water bill and taxes in both communities. Lewiston uses more water than Auburn. Lewiston should have equal legal ability to make the decision. As a citizen I feel I have a right vote on the Lake Auburn issue as citizens in Lewiston should. ~ Clementina “Tookie” Clifford, Lewiston
