‘Maine Cabin Masters’ settles with EPA over alleged violations of lead paint safety rules

KENNEBEC JOURNAL • October 19, 2022

The company behind the Manchester-based home renovation show “Maine Cabin Masters” has paid a $16,500 penalty for violating federal lead paint safety rules at five residences. The EPA alleges that the company renovated five properties in 2020, constructed prior to 1978, without following its Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting rules. The company will place information about the rule on its website. Lead can cause irreversible and lifelong health complications, such as decreasing IQ, focus and academic achievement in children.
