The New England Forestry Foundation has been invited to be a key collaborator in the implementation of the Forest Opportunity Roadmap/Maine (FOR/Maine), which is a cross-sector collaboration between industry, communities, government, education, and nonprofits that have come together to ensure Maine capitalizes on changing markets to maintain its role in the global forest economy. The University of Maine has been awarded $500,000 to further develop its proposal and advance to Phase 2 of the challenge, where it will compete for up to $100 million in American Rescue Plan funding. NEFF has been invited to lead on implementation of the advancement of cross-laminated and mass timber related components of this collaboration.
