7 Lakes Alliance is hosting tour of the Kelley property in Vienna, an example of an ecologically conscious low-impact timber harvest in a mixed hardwood stand in the Kennebec Highlands. The tour will be led by a professional forester, logger and stewardship team, and will take place 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14. Topics will include efforts to elevate the environmental and ecological standards of a small harvest and how specific practices contribute to and monitor sustainable forest management.
