Mark Wimmer Named Superintendent of Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument

Sheldon “Mark” Wimmer as the new superintendent of Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. He begins his new assignment on January 2. “Mark is an experienced and thoughtful manager who has worked on a broad range of land management issues,” said National Park Service Regional Director Gay Vietzke. “He has experience working through complex issues with stakeholders and listening to various points of view to find common ground and reach solutions." Wimmer comes to the NPS from the Bureau of Land Management in St. George, Utah. He is presently serving as the monument manager for the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument.
