Before the governor’s March 31 stay-at-home order was issued, I drove into Rockland, where coveys of rock pigeons engaged in spring courtship rituals. We humans may feel under attack from the surging coronavirus, but effective counter-measures are fairly straightforward and increasingly apparent. Wash our hands frequently and refrain from repeated face-touching. Practice social distancing. Limit travel to essential needs and services. I would add Nature to the list of soothing remedies. Spend some leisure time watching birds and animals around your neighborhood. In unique and relaxing ways, Nature serves us well. ~ Don Reimer
