For only the second time ever, a rock wren has been spotted in Maine, according to the Maine Audubon. The bird has been feeding in the rocky slope on the edge of the Perkins Cove parking lot in Ogunquit, according to experts. The rock wren has attracted more than 100 birders to the area. It spends its summers in the western mountains of North America and migrates to the southeastern United States and Mexico. Maine Audubon said the bird is definitely off course. The first sighting of a rock wren was only a few weeks ago in Washington County. Maine Audubon said only a couple birders were able to catch a glimpse of that rock wren. Experts said once it is done feeding, the bird will hopefully migrate to is native habitat.
