For the ADVENTURE plate to become a reality, we have to collect 2,000 valid signatures and accompanying $25 deposit from current Maine registration (license plate) holders. All signatures and funds will then be submitted to the Secretary of State and ultimately must be approved by the Legislature. The ADVENTURE specialty plate would provide a way for vehicle owners to show their support for Maine’s growing outdoor recreation industry – the outdoor gear manufactures, outfitters, youth trip leading organizations and more – that are helping create a sustainable economy all while getting more Mainers outdoors.
