Big Reed Pond has one of only 12 populations of rare Arctic charr remaining in the contiguous Unites States. At a time when Maine should be doing everything possible to preserve rare Arctic charr, replacing rules to allow a 2-fish catch on a recently restored, and almost lost, population is not best-practice. Wouldn’t it make more sense to leave the regulations alone to protect the resource and allow it to reach its full potential? ~ Bob Mallard
