Gov. Janet Mills will unveil her administration’s plan to reduce the negative impacts of climate change during a virtual public event on December 1. Mills’ vision for reducing emissions, preparing for the impacts of climate change and strengthening Maine communities will be based on a draft of a new Climate Action Plan that was released Thursday by members of the Maine Climate Council. The plan focuses on setting targets for heat pumps and electric vehicle adoption, and goals to protect 30 percent of public land and water resources by 2030, said Kathleen Meil, director of policy and partnerships for Maine Conservation Voters.
