Stardust 1.0 Launch, Jan 15

On 1/15/21, at 9 am, bluShift Aerospace, based in Brunswick, Maine, will launch the Stardust 1.0 prototype rocket from the Loring Commerce Centre in Limestone, Maine, marking the world’s first commercial launch of a rocket powered by bio-derived fuel. This low-altitude demo launch will be the culmination of six years of R&D, over two hundred engine tests, the successful realization of grants from NASA and the Maine Technology Institute, and the development of a novel modular hybrid rocket engine. This test flight will be short and only to 5,000 feet altitude but a first of its kind attempt using biofuel. Powered by a non-toxic, carbon-neutral, bio-derived fuel made entirely from materials that can be grown on farms across America.
